The grade most commonly found in the market. Every melon is inspected before shipment and meets the reliable quality standards expected of Crown Melon.
Melons that do not meet the Shiro grade standards — for example, because of an irregular shape or lower sugar content — fall into this grade. They are used primarily for processing.

Do not cut the melon immediately after it arrives. Keep it at room temperature and allow it to ripen. When the T-shaped stem begins to wilt and the bottom of the melon feels slightly soft to a gentle touch, it is ready to enjoy.
Once the melon has reached its ideal ripeness, chill it in the refrigerator for 2–3 hours. Remove the seeds and cut the melon into elegant crescent-shaped slices.
